This is truly one of the most amazing and bizarre and wonderful experiences or sights that I've ever seen anywhere.

In the middle of the city, downtown, for free usually every night these bats awaken and leave to go hunt or do whatever bats do. They leave from below the bridge.

Park in the City Hall basement, leave your car there, walk downwards from the bridge to the observatory site. Then just wait and watch. Make sure you get there before sunset so you can see the bats.

It's a mesmerizing spectacle. I haven't seen anything so naturally impressive since what, seeing sand dunes?
