Get a Kansas Tag for tolls

The real piece of advice is to go onto Google Maps or Apple Maps and go into the route settings, then turn on "avoid toll roads". Toll roads would make sense if you're coming in from Round Rock. No, you're living in Austin. Toll roads will shave a minute off your route, if you don't believe me turn the "avoid toll roads" option on and off and see the difference in travel time and then tell me. If you are really concerned about those few minutes, turn off "prefer fuel-efficient routes".

But for those occasions when you are going on the toll roads, or just happen to be caught on one. Maybe you're like me and just find yourself having driven to Round Rock accidentally sometimes. Or are freshly arrived in the city and don't know about avoiding toll roads yet and get caught on one. Buy a Kansas Tag, not a Texas Tag.

It's a much smoother interface and payment experience. You can set-up autopay on it. Texas Tag uses a lot of other scammy tactics. And KTag works (of course) not just in Texas but in Kansas and I think Wyoming as well.

Get a KTag, not a Texas Tag.
